Someone asked me the other day, "What the heck is a blog?" (This elderly person is someone who is not EVER gonna jump on the technology bandwagon) I explained the term came from "weblog". I went on to explain it was easier for non-internet users to think of it as public journaling. They were both repulsed and confused. "Why on earth would people put private ramblings on public view?" Hmmm...good question. And I think the answers are as diverse as the people who like to blog and those that like to read them.
