Long Nights Moon

Tonight is December's full Moon. Called the Long Nights Moon by some Native American tribes, I think that name is perfect. It's sometimes called the Full Cold Moon, but that doesn't intrigue me. It's wonderful to look out into the garden and see long shadows stretching in the light of the moon. The snow intensifies the mysterious cold light and makes magic.

We've had so much cloud lately, it's nice to finally see the moon and the stars. There is something humbling about gazing way up into a clear sky, watching the stars twinkling in pale blues and golds and purples.

It is all so beautiful.

I see it's on the wane now, which I do admit will make it a bit easier to stay asleep as I love a completely dark room for my ZZZzzs.

I like a dark room, too...but somehow I hate to pull the drapes when the moonlight is beckoning me...

Tonight we have rain. Snow everywhere and now rain. It's ugly...but the roads look pretty reflecting the lights.
