A very good friend of mine

is stepping out of her comfort zone and trying something brand new. She's apprehensive, nervous, and excited in equal measure. I so admire when a person is brave enough to expand their lives and do something they've always wanted to do, but didn't before because either fear of success or fear of failure held them back. No matter the outcome, she's already achieved personal success.

Be there for her.
There nothing as a good friend to help you succeed!

At least no one will say she didn't try!
It's tough going out to balance the high-wire without a net to fall into-
A medal of bravery is in order

I admire people like your friend and I so wish that I have the same amount of courage to do the same.

You know like lawyer turned pet groomer, accountant turned baker.... or people who used their retirement fund to buy a piece of land and started organic farming from scratch with zero knowledge and experience.

Sometimes its more than overcoming our fear of uncertainty & failure, its also about the courage of not meeting social and people's expectations.

I admire your friend and feels happy for her!

Jannie, I already think of you as a "fearless female".

Buddha, that's one of the great things about friendship, isn't it? Seeing someone you love succeed at the things that are important to them or being there to support them when they fall short.

Snaggle Tooth - I'll give Joanne that medal. She'll be thrilled.

You're right, Nisha. So often it's hard to follow our own path - especially when our personal paths intersect with other's.

I think one turn on the high wire is enough for this old goat. If not for your friendship I would have never gotten to the other side. So as Joanne steps out there I know you'll be by her side. She couldn't have asked for a better friend for this journey.

I was a baker who ended up following my dream as an accountant!

Thanks, Ellis. You're too kind. And Jannie, I feel like you are a natural born risk-taker. Just my gut instinct talking...oops...typing here.

Oh, and I forgot about "fortios"...which, of course, is the ability to build a multitude of forts out of various materials.

The biggest thing I did to step out recently was purchase a purse that was not black. Makes me have more respect for those who are willing to do more than change their purse choice!

Just saw Revolutionary Road. Raises the question of doing what we should do or what we dream of doing. Interesting film. I wish your friend the best of luck. I'm working two jobs at the moment and am needing to make a change, just not sure what the change is. Any minute now though...I hope, I'll know.

Mia, I'm now dying to know what colour you chose for the new purse.

Brigit, I've heard a lot about that movie, but haven't seen it yet. I think when the time comes, you'll know just what the change should be.
