Wrapped...

When wrapped in the memory
of hot, sticky nights
clicking of June bugs
hum of crickets
gentle murmur of summer breeze
the whisper of flakes is nearly forgotten

Yet, in the instant rain freezes
becoming multitudes of paper cut-outs
swirling and twirling in the sweet light
of a new day’s dawn
memory becomes wrapped
in fuzzy mittens

Now the image of paper cut-out freezing rain will wrap my day is something lovely. Thank you!

We're getting more of that stuff today...and the thing I really like is how the heavier snow sticks to everything and highlights ordinary things and makes them beautiful. Even the hydro lines look stunning (pun intended - lol).

Thank YOU, Jannie.

Yes the paper cuts will stay in my memory each time I read this.

You do have a gift of bring life into each of your poems. Be it found memories or the kiss of snow flacks melting on your check, they caress one like a soft breeze on a worm summer night.
