Oh so grey...

It's a grey day today. This photo I snapped of a local barn encompasses the grey perfectly. So little contrast between land, building or sky. Grey days leave you looking for color in unexpected places. Today I'm grateful for the deep pink of the sweater I'm wearing and the varied pretty colors on the book jackets stacked on my night table. I'm content to see the ripe rich red of the winterberry plant on the office shelf and the glossy deep green of the kalanchoe leaves highlighted by the bright lipstick red of their tiny spikey flowers. But the best colour today is the photographs of some of the flowers in my garden which I had enlarged for framing. Sweet to know in a few months - please Mother Nature! - they will again color my outdoor world.

I am not surprised that you found such light in a grey day. Now when I find our days clouding over I will be looking through a different set of eyes. Thank you.

As for the flowers, you are a talented photographer!

Thank you, Mia. Photography is something I really enjoy - takes me right out of myself if you know what I mean.

Thanks, Buddha!

The bottom daisy reminds me of those two you posted once who seemed to be rapt in conversation.

Was thinking yesterday about what a wonderful gift our eyes are.

Great photography

Great photos. Must admit I do like the grey barn, though. Maybe because we don't get much snow here it evokes some sort of romantic notion in me.

Thanks, Snaggle and thanks, Brigit. I have a love of barns myself. I can't drive by one without snapping a photo...and this grey one (an unusual colour around here as most tend to be green or red) spoke to me. The barns endure and I think that's why they fascinate me...their history.
