This quote

by Erma Bombeck resonates with me:

"It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else."

And she was right. It does. Nothing makes us more vulnerable than sharing our innermost hopes and dreams - those fragile beings that might disintegrate if brought out into the light. But when you have someone in your life who is worthy of a peek, it's truly magnificent and a real testament to friendship.

Erma also had this to say about courage:

"All of us have moments in our lives that test our courage. Taking children into a house with white carpet is one of them." (confession -- when my children were little I was NEVER that brave!)

Gotta love her! Still miss her...

I used to take my toddlers to the chinese restuarant n they made such a mess! I'd stay n clean-up all the rice on the floor, n tip big.
Sometimes I'm too brave for my own good tho-
I liked the Grass Is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank too- My Mom read all her stuff. I remember reading her columns in the paper.

Erma Bombeck was s true one-of-a-kind iconic idol of mine, and so many of us. Really she defined an era and will no doubt live on forever.

(And we ate out maybe twice when Kelly was between 1 and 7.)

Love them both.

It does take a lot of courage. It takes a lot to show your dreams, your hopes and fears.... in a way, that's what we're all doing here, right?

Snaggle Tooth, you are not only courageous, but super sweet. I loved her book "If life is a bowl of cherries, how come I'm stuck in the pits?"

Jannie, she's the sort that's irreplaceable...I love that type of down-to-earth humor...easy to identify with.

You're right, Mia. We bloggers are a courageous bunch...never thought of it that way before.
