Attack Robin

was back on the job today. This time he decided to take on my daughter's Jeep which was parked on the street in front of the house. He wasn't interested in the windshield this time, he was after the hood. I didn't have time to grab the video camera, but I'll be sure to keep it close for the next time Attack Robin strikes.

What in the world?? Is he pecking at his own reflection, maybe?

We think that's what it is - thinking he's attacking another male or something. I feel bad because he really goes at it! Like I mentioned in a previous post, I'm afraid he'll end up with a crumpled beak. So far, though, the beak is intact - lol!

I wonder if this bird is in therapy?

Mark, maybe I'll have to find a "bird whisperer" - lol!

zman, he did it last year, too. I keep imagining that he needs some extra strength Excedrin.

Well, he did see another bird in there and all! Must be egotistical. He thought the bird was so pretty it was a threat? LOL.

I'm laughing, Mia - an egotistical robin! That's perfect!

Can you insure your car against that?? :)

Jannie, I doubt it...so far there hasn't been any scratches or damage that we can see...but anyone dropping over now parks down the street and away from the 'attack zone'. Thankfully he doesn't go after our vehicles our driveway.

I would say he is wooing the reflections he is seeing. It's spring. Mating time. The reflection is the prettiest robin he's seen around. I wonder if he is the only robin in your immediate area. Have you noticed any females around?

That is one Robin taking BOLD steps! He ain't 'fraid o' northings!

Hmmm, I'd maybe get a large print-out of a lady robin n put it inside your windshield...

Brigit, there are tons of robins around now. He did the same thing last year when he and his mate picked a spot in the maple tree.

Snaggle Tooth, we were killing ourselves laughing - he's like Super Robin or something! Definitely a brave soul.

Oh and don't hate me for being the messenger of this clip, I'm sure no pigeons were actually harmed in its creation....but it's kinda related to this post.

Not sure if you've seen it yet or not?
