A photo of a favorite place can bring back a memory rush of the senses...the scents, the sounds...and is remarkable in taking the edge off a stressful day.If you've ever had the privilege of watching a sunset in progress, it's amazing how quickly the sun fades from view. When the sunset takes place over water on a summer evening when the wind is light, the golden light dancing on the ruffled water is magic. Linger and the deepening indigo of the evening sky reveals the first stars.

What a gorgeous setting you captured!
I've taken so many sunset pics around here, it's crazy- but my eyes see it better than cam-I always think it's ther best show in town!
I don't get alot of free time to hang-out, but when I do I get in some quality sights to experience locally.
Mini-breaks always make my day- I like how the beauty n awe felt at the time are always revisited when viewing the shot you took there.
Thanks for sharing the dock sunset. I'd like a longer vaca there-
There is always something about a sunset across water that adds a bit of sadness to the air. It might be I realize how big it is and how small I am. I love to look at those types of sunsets with a camp fire cracking close by to nip any chill off the air.
T - I'm lucky I have an amazing view of the west out of my window for sunsets. They seem different almost every time. I have quite the collection of snapshots too!
Yours is very pretty!Peace,

Snaggle Tooth, you're welcome.
Ellis, I know what you mean - it's one of those bittersweet moments. Yes! A crackling campfire is the perfect accompanniment.
Neo, you are lucky. I love how they differ and each has a distinct beauty.
There is great beauty in every moment if we choose to see it. Thanks for sharing.
So true, Mark.
Amazing post and very well said...great pics...Zman sends
This post was a nice mini break all by itself!
Thanks, Steve.
You're too sweet, Mama Zen!
I always thought of nature as being the true temple of God.
There is nothing more soothing like the beauty of nature :)
Buddha, I'm always feel peaceful when I'm out in nature.
At Kelly's scinace fair last week, Camillo had two botles of water he shone a flashlight on. One clear water. And the other had milk in it, to represent and show that we get our amazing sunset colors because of particles.
But I still dont quite undestand his experiment. Do you? Well of course ou were not there. But can you help shed some light on the milk in the water theory?
... because you are smart about everything.
lol - well, do you want the scientific explanation? It has to do with the distance that light travels as the sun is setting. The short wavelengths of blue and green are scattered so we see the longer wavelengths - the reds. The really intensely colourful sunsets are caused by particles of dust or water in the atmosphere causing more scattering of the short wavelengths(blue/green) and intensifying our visual of the longer wavelenghts. That's all I remember about the science of sunsets, but I'm sure there's even more to discover. Got Milk? Nope...I don't know the milk experiment...lol...
The non-scientific explanation? A faery having fun with a box of crayolas - and really liking the hot reds and pinks!
PS - The longer I live, the less I know!
You are very right. You do realize just how shot they are. I agree with desk49 ... over the water it is a peaceful sadness that overtakes me. You chose a perfect photo for a mini break! Truly, at the onset, I felt myself sigh with relief.
Jannie's right, you are smart about everything. Even the fact that the longer you live, the less you know. I have no idea what I even did today! LOL.
Mia, it really is melancholy, isn't it? But so peaceful. When things get stressful, I like to remind myself it won't always be so.
And I'm only smart enough to recognize how stupid I am - lol!
See- I knew you'd know!!
I do, strangely, remmeber PV=NRT from Chemistry, grade 11 and I have no freaking idea how or why that has stuck with me. And no idea what it's about. But I rmemeber pv=nrt, gosh dang-it!!!
LOL. I think I'm only sane enough to realize how insane I am. I think.....
Reminding myself that change is always happening is the only thing that keeps me sane most days.
