I love to see how this mushroom is stretching itself up towards the sun in exploration and display of its beauty....even with its sure demise around the corner.
Just goes to show, a lesson can be learned from a yard mushroom.
Be as magnificent as you can be in the time you have. Grow, be grand, display all you have for all to see and maybe share a lesson with another before you go.
I was in NYC over the weekend and I'll tell you, it certainly is easy to feel pretty insignificant there. To NOT stand out. But it is refreshing to see this little mushroom breaking the mold and growing where planted! Thanks for the inspiration today!
Mia, beautifully said. But Talon - My fungus is bigger than yours! http://southernhighlandsexposed.com
Taken during my walk at Fitzroy Falls.
And then of course there are the little ones I saw as well. Nature's wonderful isn't it. We'd learn a lot more if we payed more attention to it. Here's to all the little things.
After all the humidity n clouds lately, it's amazing we don't have tons of tiny pedistals around here too... Beautiful thought (thanks to your good Cam n a great eye)
I laughed when I read your post. I think we posted it on the same day - more of that syncronicity at play for us, Brigit :) I'm with you - to all the little things!
Snaggle, it's been damp and dreary a lot lately - perfect for the fungus to grow.
I like what Molly said about feeling insignificant in NYC, I had that same feeling there. But... if we can make it there, we'll make it anywhere.
Florida, however, Florida makes me feel absolutley like a giddy teen - I always seem to be about the youngest one around when I'm in that State, expecially in the southern part. :) Great place for anyone who is worried they're "getting old."
My Mother used to wander the woods picking n eating the good mushrooms. That is a toadstool, however, so probably not edible. The round-topped ones, white or greyish-tan are the ones to eat.

This is very true! We can blend or we can stand out as we choose.
Mia, how beautifully put! A great way to view our time on this planet.
Thanks, Lynn.
You're welcome, Molly.
Mark, I'm now thinking of chameleons! lol!
