Gems...

Memories strung like the glass beads on a dollar store necklace. Moments—emerald, ruby, amethyst—glow along the heart strings, shining against mundane moments of Tuesday afternoons and rainy Thursday evenings. When the string breaks, the memories spill onto the floor. I gather them up, gently placing them in a cut-glass dish to catch sunbeams.

Such a pleasure always to see you mix words and pictures...the color of this one is so evocative for some reason. Really echoes the verbal image well.

some saved,
later to sparkle
from remembrance

some lost under the couch
never to be found
forever in darkness

the beads of my memories
broken… swept from the floor
like the dust of time

Good slap in the face thought provoking

Fantastic 55, Talon!! This one is a gem by itself!! Memories is that one topic that will forever inspire me!!
And as much as I love your post, I find it MOST creepy that I too have written a 55 on memories... only, I became my own janitor (instead of a jeweler) :)

haisley, the odinary moments nestling with the special ones. Thank you!

Galen, thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope your weekend is fantabulous! And I'm gonna miss writing and reading the 55s next week, so I think I might just have to write one anyway - and, of course, I'll make it a turkey-themed one :)

Joan, thank you :)

Anthony, thanks so much!

Snaggle, I didn't have a necklace that suited so shot one close up and then saturated the color. I'm glad you liked it :)

Cindy, thank you! :)

Nessa, it would be sad to lose them, wouldn't it? Enjoy your break!

Tim, you're welcome. And thank you!

izzy, thank you so much. Glad you liked it.

Lorraine, thank you so much! You're too sweet!

Jerry, thanks. I wish I had some glass beads - I would have definitely set up the shot. :)

ladynimue, thank you! Funny how much synchronicity is at play in the blogging world - it's neat, isn't it?

Thanks, Brian :)

Ellis, those darn memories - they just tend to scatter (and then the cat plays with one and it ends up under the bookcase and Charlie gets one and eats i - lol) :)

Lynn, thank you. :)

Jannie, I try my best :) xxx

Eric, thanks!

Claudia, thank you so much!

Cloudia, I'm glad you enjoyed. Thank you!

Thanks, Leenie!

Jingle, thank you!

Sheila, thank you so much. I'm glad you like the shots. It's harder to get some pretty stuff with the November garden, but I think there's still a lot of beauty in the withering leaves and the naked branches.

Monkey Man, thank you!

Teresa, I'm so glad you enjoy coming here. I enjoy your blog very much, too! :)

Thank you so much, C. I'm glad you enjoyed my 55. I had no idea that was your son performing - how awesome is that! And who doesn't love some Pink Floyd? :)

Glad you liked it, D! :)

Thank you, Giovanni! What a lovely thing to say!

kavisonz, I loved yours - so well written and such wonderful imagery. I'm so glad you enjoyed mine :)

Frieda, thank you. :)

Thanks, TechnoBabe!
