“You’re doing it again.”
“I am not.”
“Are too.”
“I am not.”
“Not now—before.”
“I was not.”
“You were.”
“So what was it?”
“Sounded like Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple.”
“Did I ever tell you that you have great ears?”
“Nope. Did I ever tell you that you hum too much?”
“Frequently.”

haha. i can just see these two friends jawwing away at each other...nice song choice...
Oh, very good!
I enjoyed this, a lot!
Ha ha! This sort of dialogue can be charming in its intimacy. (Less so if it's between a 30 year old and a 3 year old.)
She wasn't a woman from Tokyo by any chance? Strange kind of woman ;-)
Hi Talon .. those words are said so many times in a similar format .. great exposition here .. and I love the two photos: the apple blossom is gorgeous - while the sky is just one of those moments captured ..
Thanks - lovely to read and to see .. cheers Hilary
The photos are just gorgeous. Love the tail end of the arrow through the sky. Fits so well with the words of people who love each other piercing each other with daft bickering and then coming back to love.
Did not!
Did too!
Did not!
Love it! :D
Loove the writing, adore the heading and oh what a sky, you give so much!
Sounds like two people who are around each other many hours every day.
Thanks for the morning chuckle...
What? Do you have a microphone hidden in my house?
Talon Dear...?
55's are derived from the strangest of inspirations aren't they?
What a grin.
You always make my day. Thanks a lot for your weekly support, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
Great interchange. It rings true to life.
This could be my house!
Great 55, Talon!
I like how you did not put gender.
Letting us all pick who's talking because we’ve all have had these talks with all different types of people.
...and fire in the sky.
Oh yes - love snippets from life!
I used to get smacked for humming as a child--understandable I guess with my musical ineptitudes. A great slice-of-life 55, and as always, simply gorgeous pics.
I hum a lot !! even while working :)
Nice post !
humming right now! as I gaze at the lovely blossoms and enjoy my power pudding with flax and Chia seeds...
having a bit of a conversation with you and you nice words :)
A lovely and fun exchange. :)
IHey, thanks a lot. Now I'm going to have Smoke on the Water lodged in my brain for the rest of the day.
Fun 55, Talon.
Change the song title and you've been eaves dropping on my kids.
great now I have this song in my head! :D I'm always humming and my husband can't stand it!!
Such a realistic conversation! I love the picture. You certainly do live in a beautiful place.
Fire in the sky for sure. What a photo! Laughed at the 55. It's great to be able to have a discussion like that and know you'll still like each other after.
Lol, great dialogue.
But honestly who wouldn't hear smoke on the waters edge
Hey, if he's looking at that while humming, I'd just hum along.
Fun 55.
that's quite playful.
beautiful 55.
Bless your weekend.
Such a bizarre cloud pic!
There never mistaking when I'm doing it on the guitar- such a bold tune.
- Humming? not just once.. a tad annoying, eh? It's a free world- humm away! Cute 55
ps can't post on blogger anymore going back to my photoplace, hope you visit :
Been there, done that:)
Hahah! Two best friends goin at it! Loved it!
my hubby whistles. sometimes just imitating the high pitch of a sound he hears somewhere coming from inside the house. Like a vacuum cleaner.
a familiar dialogue, familiar refrain - I myself am caught out humming quite a bit... I do like Smoke on the Water
Ha ha...charming :)
and I'm back to blogger Thank God!
I ditto Fire Byrd's comment:) Love the photos, as always:)
That's charming and funny. You made me smile once again :)
The pictures are great!!
Haaaaaaaaaaa, lucky her, at least someone RECOGNISES what she hums.. (sob)
And fire in the sky, oh yeah.
I hum too much probably, but my nearest and dearest are mostly okay wiht it. Actually Jim never mentions a thing about it, but The Child has been known to ask me to stop singing. :)
Fun one, Talon!!
xoxoxo
Thanks, Brian! :)
Thank you so much, Margie!
Belinda, lol - I've heard worse between two 75 year olds ;)
No, not from Tokyo, Anthony! :)
Hilary, thanks. The skies have been so dreary and drab lately, that any blue is like a pure celebration!
Mandy, thank you so much!
Joey, glad I made you smile :)
Lorraine, thank you. And I'm DELIGHTED that you are back on blogger :) I'm now hoping that it will actually post these comments because it continues to give me problems. But I feel optimistic :)
TechnoBabe, isn't it just? I heard them distinctly in my head (and realized that replace if I had replaced humming with something else it would have been me and my hubby) - lol!
Darla, you're welcome! :)
Walking Man, lol! ;)
Galen, thank you. Aren't they though? That's what makes them so fun, isn't it? And I hope you're having a fantastic Kick Ass weekend. Ours has been good - but the weather sucked! :)
Thank you, Linda!
Thanks, Mama Zen!
Ellis, haven't we just? They're universal, I think :)
lg, :)
izzy, thanks!
hedgewitch, I'm hoping you're joking! I'd hate to think of you getting hurt for something as harmless as humming. And thank you about the pics. It's so easy this time of year to find something gorgeous in bloom to shoot at.
ladynimue, I talk under my breath. :)
I like that you were humming reading this, Patricia! I hope you and your family and Zip are having a glorious weekend!
Thank you, Lynn! :)
Thanks, Patti, and sorry about the song implant :)
Monkey Man, it's funny, but some things truly don't change, do they? :)
Lulda, that's funny about the humming. My Father used to whistle and drive us all nuts. He didn't even notice when he was doing it!
Teresa, thank you. Everything is springing to life right now so there's no shortage of gorgeous blooms to shoot...and I try to take advantage of what seems to be really rare blue skies.
Leenie, that's the neat thing about friends, isn't it? They love us in spite of our foibles and family? They're just stuck with us :) Hope you're having a beautiful weekend!
Thanks, Richard! I love that song too - it's got such an iconic opening :)
Alice, thanks! Yes, this is a time for a hum-a-long :)
Jingle, thank you! Hope your weekend is a fine one!
Snaggle, the sky was filling up with jet streams. You're so right - nothing wrong with a little humming. Hope you're having a lovely weekend!
Lorraine, I'm so glad Blogger is behaving for you again - but you know I'll follow you wherever you go!
Annie, lol! :)
Leo, thanks!
Christine, that's unique!
Thank you, ayala!
Joy, thank you so much!
Frieda, I'm glad it made you smile! And thank you so much!
Shrinky, lol - years back there used to be a game called Humzinger. My poor friend could hum anything - but it all sounded alike! :)
Jannie, for you the music is an occupational hazard and totally forgiveable! :) I think we do a lot of things like that without concious thought and we'd get away with it if not for children and spouses and friends :) xxx
Perfect pic / perfect ending
Sounds like the sibling thing
Thanks to your family and your son Talon
Love and hugs
