Level-headed...

The rain dances on the road. Lightning flashes, the echoing booms racing down the valley. The trees bow sullen heads and the peonies are prostrate, too tired for battling. The daisies hold fast, shining faces tipped into the downpour. They accept the harsh drops with equanimity. Sun or cloud or rain matters not to them.

and depending on what part of the world you are in, they probably appreciate the wetting of their parches throats...

Daisies are what they are, as the saying goes, simple, and the ultimate survivors. I've never seen a bug touch em, and they have so much texture and color in just white and yellow. I love the way you really *see* the world, Talon--must be the photographer's eye. Loved your 55.

If only my beautiful oak tree had been a daisy, it wouldn't have fallen over during last week's storms. You really do create wonderful images with your writing.

Something in the world has to give hell, hell right back and not being defeated is the measure of that gift.

This thirsty daisy makes me feel a little better about the rain storm I had to drive us home in yesterday. At least I know the plants were enjoying it. You photography is as outstanding as your writing.

Oh how I'd love to be like a daisy! But harsh drops are met with something other than equanimity. Great photos, too. (But they all are.)

Wonderful shot Talon. The drops captured on the flower petal look like I could touch them! I think I am more like a (proud, tall) sunflower; my head sometimes sags when the rain beats down fiercely; but I am still standing...lg

I try to be an optimistic daisy, but since we've been getting all the weather that needs to go to Texas and Arizona I'm starting to feel like one of the peonies.

However, I like how you tell the story of the dancing rain and the thunder and lightning.

Daisies are my favorite. What other weed-like flower is so beautiful when taking over a patch of earth?

I could feel the heaviness of the raindrop - the weight of such weather.

So true! I've had some scary moments in recent weeks, watching the hard rain come down on the flowers, wondering if they're going to lay down or break like the peonies or hold fast like the daisies!
