The rain dances on the road. Lightning flashes, the echoing booms racing down the valley. The trees bow sullen heads and the peonies are prostrate, too tired for battling. The daisies hold fast, shining faces tipped into the downpour. They accept the harsh drops with equanimity. Sun or cloud or rain matters not to them.

and depending on what part of the world you are in, they probably appreciate the wetting of their parches throats...
Daisies are what they are, as the saying goes, simple, and the ultimate survivors. I've never seen a bug touch em, and they have so much texture and color in just white and yellow. I love the way you really *see* the world, Talon--must be the photographer's eye. Loved your 55.
Love these images I can see them in my garden right now.
If only my beautiful oak tree had been a daisy, it wouldn't have fallen over during last week's storms. You really do create wonderful images with your writing.

Flowers amaze me - they really don't get phased by the weather

Poem and the "spirit of the flower" daisies are pretty amazing.

Something in the world has to give hell, hell right back and not being defeated is the measure of that gift.
This thirsty daisy makes me feel a little better about the rain storm I had to drive us home in yesterday. At least I know the plants were enjoying it. You photography is as outstanding as your writing.
Oh how I'd love to be like a daisy! But harsh drops are met with something other than equanimity. Great photos, too. (But they all are.)
Wonderful shot Talon. The drops captured on the flower petal look like I could touch them! I think I am more like a (proud, tall) sunflower; my head sometimes sags when the rain beats down fiercely; but I am still standing...lg
Great photo and beautiful words. Such survivors!
A beautiful flash of freshness and beauty, atta girl
I try to be an optimistic daisy, but since we've been getting all the weather that needs to go to Texas and Arizona I'm starting to feel like one of the peonies.
However, I like how you tell the story of the dancing rain and the thunder and lightning.
Love this!
Beautiful writing!
Beautiful pictures!
Daisies are my favorite. What other weed-like flower is so beautiful when taking over a patch of earth?
A lovely tribute to rain. :)
Hey - love that photo of Stripey.
Oh we just must rejoice in the rain...columbine on the ground, slugs feasting..
Nice to see a fresh bloom here and love that stocking kitty !
Oh to be the daisy ~ full of strength, nonplused by the goings on around. Beautiful imagery.
Thanks for stopping by my spot.

we were saved from sure death by monsoon. :)
what a beautiful imagery... loved it...
Daisies are indeed a wonderful weed. Great write, T.
Rain only adds to their beauty!
Awesome pic/poem combo, Talon!
Got to love daisies!
Strutz was struck by your cat photo.'Course he should be struck more often considering the gross comments he made. My best.
I could feel the heaviness of the raindrop - the weight of such weather.
So true! I've had some scary moments in recent weeks, watching the hard rain come down on the flowers, wondering if they're going to lay down or break like the peonies or hold fast like the daisies!
This is a serene 55 Talon!
beautiful is the word.. I have always loved your images..
P.S. The feline is a perfect snap- shot!
Weekend hugs xox
My mother loves daises. Love the photo and the words! Beautiful as always Talon!

Tough litter buggers I see.
Hi Talon,
Lovely images and photography. Well done... - bill
Beautiful pic of a shiny face- rain should roll off all of us so easily instead of making my sneakers sqwishy to work in...
That is the perfect description for some of this year's storms. Bravo for the simple daisy.
My sweet Talon i love how you play with your words and create motion within the poem. So peaceful are the daisies and their surroundings even if in motion don't affect them. Beautiful poem and love the images as always. Sorry for my missing in action but i try to squeeze a story or poem here and there when i can. Left one today too you may like when you stop by xox
Love always
