Peekaboo

Looking at the world
from the corner of your eyes
peering around and through
fingers-splayed as the sheild
from other eyes more persistent

In rare moments
when you feel safe enough
to let your guard down
and let the prying eyes in
what beauty they behold

I see those who keep their guard up around me, they are so hard to know. Beautiful pictures.

Perfect description for the photos, and for some days when I feel like I need something bigger than my fingers. ;_) Lovely clematis.

Simply beautiful photos Talon and I also love what you have written. The first shot had me of course, wondering just what was on the inside. :-) Great yellows and the wee bug on the header! Job well done :-)Looks like your flowers are on the bloom!

Fantastic Photography Talon.

Sometimes it's necessary to keep our guard up but we miss out on so much by doing so. Lovely words and exquisite pictures. Isn't that flower the most gorgeous colour?

Thanks, Brian. So true - there's that vulnerability that makes us feel extra fragile.

Christine, they are. It's like trying to peer through brick walls. Thank you. The clematis is stunning this year.

Ellis, lol - just a little sweeter than bloodshed, no? ;)

Thanks, hedgewitch. Yes, sometimes the finger shield is definitely not enough :)

Grannie, that's what my daughter and I thought when we spied this bloom :)

TechnoBabe, thank you so much! I'm glad you liked them! :)

G, thanks. I'm glad :)

Lorraine, thank you so much! xx

Mama Zen, thank you!

Thank you so much, Cindy!

lg, thank you! The clematis is outstanding this year. I guess it's like the roller-coaster weather. And I can never resist putting some annuals in pots about and the pansies are so sweet and fragrant I can never resist. :)

Trisha, it's so lovely to see you! And thank you so much. I agree - some beauty is overlooked by many eyes, isn't it? I hope all is well for you!

Lynn, the clematis is crazy bloom-filled this year. I always think it's almost too exotic looking for our northern climes :)

Teresa, thank you!

Joan, thank you so much. Isn't the purple amazing? And those yellow-green centres are the perfect foil. I think nature has the best colour combos :)

Linda, thank you! :)

Patricia, so glad you enjoyed - even the little bug which seemed to enjoy swaying on the tip of the pansy in quite a strong breeze (for a bug) :) Aren't the pansies sweet? We have them as annuals here and they bloom beautifully all summer. I'm always sad with their demise in the fall.

Jannie, thank you. Thank YOU for always enjoying my flower pics and flowery words! xxx

Margie, thank you! So glad you liked it! :)

lol, Galen. If you only knew how impatient I can be. But somehow that slips away when I have camera in hand. I'm glad you liked the shots. :)

Gypsy, isn't that clematis something? It's truly magnificent. The blooms are about 7" across and there must be at least 30 open right now with more to come. I just wished they lasted all summer long. You're right - there are risks in both letting the guard down and in keeping it up. Darn - is there no easy way to balance things out in life? :)

Laura, beautiful synchronicity at play. Lovely to see you and I loved your post. Sometimes moving slowly is a real gift, isn't it?

ayala, thank you!

Hi Talon .. Peekaboo .. was exactly right - I went out to get a glass of water and who should be peering at me as I returned ...

They brought some kittens into the home yesterday for the residents and the black one - zonked out asleep in his 'nest' came and said hello - but coal black all over .. not sure Mum could see him!!!

The clematis is the most beautiful colour .. and the three photos are superb .. love them .. and now it's Thursday - oh well I enjoyed them even if I'm late to the party! Cheers Hilary
