The factory closed with little fanfare in the local press—just
a blurb on page seven next to an ad for a work boot sale. Initially, the
building felt abandoned. Later, it felt like a ghost residence. Then nature
started to a reassert her claim, wrapping the place in her green arms and
squeezing tight.

Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor Day Weekend...incredible that summer is winding down when it feels like it just got started.
I'll be away from the blogs for the next couple of weeks and look forward to seeing you all soon...please be well and, most of important of all, be happy! :)
Oh, and Stripey says to remind you all to watch out for those tricky birds!

Take your time Talon...
Work gets in the way of Blogging sometimes!
I loved your 55.
Nature has a way of taking back what is her's.
Loved your pics!
Thanks for playing, thanks for your support, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
Great 55. I love when nature reclaims her territory.
ps - we also have a cat named Stripey, who looks a lot like yours :)
"Wrapping the place in her green arms and squeezing tight..."
I love it.
Thanks for another Friday 55.
Mine's here. :)
I enjoyed your green embrace! LOL
For me, the work boot sale was a knife in the heart. Well done.
Some places are meant to disappear. Great 55.
What a shame to put it down...I love Smokey, change your mind, don't go away, bet you'd feel extatic lol
oops Talon not Smokey I'm thinking Margie, both I love the photos, and it should remain as it is...such good eye candy for a photographer
and STripey is beautiful lol
Awesome..
n I love cats...
I just happen to witness someone's struggle to reclaim his factory land- this one reminded me of that.. cause I too was involved preparing papers for the same..
hugs xo
Mother Earth's reclamation touched my senses. We see so much abandoned property left to be absorbed into the scenery.
Have a nice escape and hurry back.
Oooh, I came across a granary with a huge silo, in similar condition- It was spooky, also very weathered...
Thanks!
Like the image of nature wrapping the factory in her arms.
Have a wonderful long break~
Take care too ~
Great way ton look at change as having a new direction
Safety and joy dear Talon
Such good imagination for that crumbling building.
Enjoy your time away -
After spending most of my life in dry climates where abandoned turns sloooowing to dust and rust; I am always amazed how lush greenery can quickly overcome and enfold anything that doesn't move in more humid places.
Enjoy your time away and watch out for the green vines and moss.
Nature does eventually claim all.
I love it, Talon!
Hope that your time away is good!
Enjoy your time away as much as we enjoy your 55 and photographs...I must start back in tomorrow and feel as though I am only in the middle of the sorting processes of how to keep going...
In 4 years, the speed has only quickened and not being able to do SEO is making my start up business difficult to get up and running..plus learning newsletters...I think I am feeling a bit like the building in your picture
Love it, Talon. I hope your time away is great.
this is beautifully sweet.
well done 55.
bless your weekend.
Oooo, wonderful!
The 55, I mean. Not your upcoming hiatus.
But I understand, boy do I! Real Life is a great plece to be.
xo
A true back to nature post. Sadly we see this happen too often when old shops that were once vital fall into ruin.
Good to see Stripey again! Enjoy your weekend.
Wonderful! Nature really does have a way of reclaiming her spaces. Enjoy your time off.
When we are gone, Nature will reassert herself without help from human so-called "intelligence"
Reclamation reminds me of my yard this week! Seems real life is reclaiming you for this blog break!
Have a good Labor Day too!
I like both the pictures and the 55. Nature reclaiming its property...very well captured by you.
Take your time and come back with lots of pictures and inspirations :)
Nice photos. I truly have an interest in old buildings and in cracked walls and old stairs. Your words are fun, and it does look like nature grew around the old place maybe to give a hug.
Not a bad way to go... with natures embrace. Very nice. I hope you are enjoying your two weeks and not working....
Enjoy your time off...nothing is quite as enjoyable as time off. My best.
I think Nature is so wonderful at reclaiming, covering over what man has made then abandoned.
Love photo of Stripey ...and his words of wisdom.
Enjoy your break.
Stripey!!!
Great shot, Talon. I hope that you are (of course) watching the Open!!!!!
lg!!
Talon,
I love it when nature reclaims. There's a beauty in this process, which you captured so well in these photographs.
Take care of yourself and I look forward to your return:~)
Good advice, Stripey!
