Reclamation...

The factory closed with little fanfare in the local press—just a blurb on page seven next to an ad for a work boot sale. Initially, the building felt abandoned. Later, it felt like a ghost residence. Then nature started to a reassert her claim, wrapping the place in her green arms and squeezing tight.

Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor Day Weekend...incredible that summer is winding down when it feels like it just got started.

I'll be away from the blogs for the next couple of weeks and look forward to seeing you all soon...please be well and, most of important of all, be happy!  :)

Oh, and Stripey says to remind you all to watch out for those tricky birds!

I just happen to witness someone's struggle to reclaim his factory land- this one reminded me of that.. cause I too was involved preparing papers for the same..

Mother Earth's reclamation touched my senses. We see so much abandoned property left to be absorbed into the scenery.

Have a nice escape and hurry back.

Oooh, I came across a granary with a huge silo, in similar condition- It was spooky, also very weathered...
Thanks!

Such good imagination for that crumbling building.

Enjoy your time away -

After spending most of my life in dry climates where abandoned turns sloooowing to dust and rust; I am always amazed how lush greenery can quickly overcome and enfold anything that doesn't move in more humid places.

Enjoy your time away and watch out for the green vines and moss.

Enjoy your time away as much as we enjoy your 55 and photographs...I must start back in tomorrow and feel as though I am only in the middle of the sorting processes of how to keep going...
In 4 years, the speed has only quickened and not being able to do SEO is making my start up business difficult to get up and running..plus learning newsletters...I think I am feeling a bit like the building in your picture

A true back to nature post. Sadly we see this happen too often when old shops that were once vital fall into ruin.

Good to see Stripey again! Enjoy your weekend.

Nice photos. I truly have an interest in old buildings and in cracked walls and old stairs. Your words are fun, and it does look like nature grew around the old place maybe to give a hug.

I think Nature is so wonderful at reclaiming, covering over what man has made then abandoned.

Love photo of Stripey ...and his words of wisdom.

Enjoy your break.
