Love it. I can't resist a bench, or a good snow shot.

Your header image just took my breath away--I must have stared at it with my mouth open for two whole minutes, following all the delicate tracery--the beautiful unmarred snow with the bench is lovely, also. All is still just brown dead grass here, but I'm not complaining.

I never thought I'd say this, but I am so ready for some winter and snow. We're facing record high temps tomorrow. Your snow is beautiful!

Had to look that one up. Your photo is a perfect example.

Great word, longanimity. Something I could use. I waited for patience and unruffled self-control and restraint for about five minutes.

Patiently waiting, while suffering n plotting revenge, as told by the Urban Dictionary...
Yep, had to look it up-
The bench has a very long wait until summer! Or you are waiting too long for a nice deep snowfall... The revenge may be a splinter...
lol - G-Man's Haiku!

Lovely photo. Can understand why there is no-one sitting on the bench though.

That's a serious case of coldass waiting to happen.

Fantastic post. Such a beautiful calm picture and the perfect description ( I have to confess that I had to look that word up :)
Happy New Year to you! I am finally back from up north...

You continue to inspire me, Talon. Your photos and words connect me to things larger than my immediate world. There is no real snow in Tahoe and San Francisco weather feels more like spring and I worry about climate change, and seeing your photos reminds me that the world will not end today. Whew. Happy new year!

My heart wished for a photo of snow today and *you* gave me that wish..thank you! I wanted to feel the crisp in the air and the cold and the vibrancy of it.
Your header today: absolutely breathtakingly stunning..
And the photo and word choice--perfect.
Thank *you*!

Thank you, Brian. :)

Thanks, Lynn! :)

Carol, it took me ages to find an unspoiled part ;) x

G, plenty of benches had the marks of the weary asses :)

Sandy, thank you. It's nice to have some snow to shoot. It's not supposed to last too long - hovering above freezing tomorrow :(

hedgewitch, the pods on the trees always look so amazing to me when it's snowing and blowing. I was so happy I managed to capture at least a little of the movement of the blowing snow without totally freezing :) So glad you liked it.

Teresa, I like when the temps get cold and stay there. Unfortunately, ours is still up/down, but for now the snow is staying put. I know how you feel - it just isn't January around here without snow and we had a green Christmas.

Ayala, thank you!

Leenie, I love using out-of-fashion words. lol - I think I'm like you. Patience is something I work very hard to cultivate, but never seems to grow :)

D, lol at the "sitzmark" - as always, you know just how to compose it. :)

Margie, thank you. I'm glad you liked it :) xox

Snaggle, I agree - the splinter will be the revenge. So I'm thinking I'll avoid the benches come warmer weather :)

J Cosmo, thanks. I agree - it's not exactly the time of year around here for sitting and pondering.

lol, Shay! :)

Frieda, I was blown away by your shots of the northern lights! Just amazing! Happy New Year - so glad you're back :)

lg, thank you. I figured the poor benches felt the snow was injurious to them having any company through the cold winter months :)

Thanks, Mama Zen! :)

Belinda, thank you. I worry about climate change, too. The seasons are not the same anymore - haven't been around here for 10 years or so now. But once in a while, it feels just like it always has. So maybe that's a good thing? Wishing you a beautiful New Year! :)

Patricia, you're welcome. And thank you for sharing your voice.

Sheila, thank you. It's not supposed to last. Temps are supposed to climb and then plummet again. The seasons are roller-coaster rides anymore.

Joy, thank you so much. I'm glad you got a heart wish. That's lovely! Happy New Year to you and your family!

The pictures is a story picture to me...
I see a young couple, dressed a bit too lightly for the weather, but making up for by cuddling each other as they walk.

The bench beckons them -- all that pristine perfection -- just made for two lovers. Yet, when they get close, they stop. Neither wanting to spoil it by sitting down. It's just too beautiful. Instead, they lean into each other and sigh.

After a moment, they walk away, holding hands as the snow falls gently down on their faces.

You are such a gifted writer and photographer. It's a joy to visit here!
