Charily

Gathering defences to protect a tender center, she guards her heart. She’s been known to duck into the shadows when anyone looks too long her way. Shy, yet drawn to the light, she shares her soul with those who grow close, but gradually, a flower seeking the sun – warily unfurling so as not to wilt.

I just love this ! and you strangely described how I feel sometimes-
The mystery with my 55 is Azzy
(the white mare) has to be roped out of the labyrinth -her manure makes it time consuming to mow the paths...
However she does often keep me company!

Lovely use of metaphor, Talon--so hard not to wilt in this world. As always, the photos and words work together to perfection in your excellent 55.

You might be surprised to know that at base, I am this flower:) Thank you for sharing such beauty with your photo and words!

Another new one for me:

Charily--guarded, with great caution; warily. Words just waiting for a poem or your well done 55. Even chrysanthemums can be shrinking violets.

Excellent 55! You sure can pack a lot into 55 words, my friend.

Thank you, Margaret.

Thank you so much, Teresa.

Glad you enjoyed, G. Hope you're having a fabulous time.

Brian, thank you. I agree. Too long in the dark and the light begins to hurt.

Thank you, MorningAJ!

Anthony, thank you very much!

Jinksy, thank you.

Snaggle, sorry you're allergic. The one thing I love about mums is their longevity. Hope you're having a great weekend.

Thanks, Joey. I hope your weekend is a fabulous one!

Annie, thank you. :)

Thank you, Lorraine.

izzy, thank you. Oh, you're making me miss my horse Gypsy. She was such great company. Azzy in the maze - that just conjures up wonderful imagery, but I can imagine the manure clean-up would be complicated in there :)

Thank you so much, hedgewitch. The photos and the words sometimes get intertwined so I'm not sure where one started and the other one ended :)

Joy, thank you. No, I wouldn't have known you were that guarded.

Leslie, thank you. Hope your weekend is a beautiful one.

Leenie, thanks. Isn't it a neat word? It's so close to warily, isn't it? One of those old English words that almost sound made up these days.

Thank you so much, Linda!

Patricia, thank you!

lg, thank you. I promise I'm not peeking. :) I know you have a tender and gentle heart, but I don't think of you as shy.

Nara Malone, thank you so much.

Sandy, me, too. And isn't it lovely when those shy ones really open up? They almost always guard a beautiful heart.

ayala, thank you. I hope your weekend is beautiful!

Heaven, thank you!

Taylor Boomer, thank you. Hope your weekend is a lovely one also.

Thank you, Cloudia :)

Doctor FTSE, thank you.

Shay, thank you. :)

Walking Man, so glad to see you. And, true, the bull's fate is definitely sealed. I guess the flower will perish, too, but not in such certain a fashion.

Thank you, Helen.

Beautiful words and a perfect picture to complete them...

Sounds like a few beautiful people I know! And in a way, this 55 could be about any one of us -- we each have a tender center and we guard our hearts for our nature is to be vulnerable.

I love your words and photos. There's always so much beauty and depth awaiting me here.

Good pairing of pic and words - theme-tight work.

That picture is wonderful!!

I can identify with these words, having known many years of shyness. You captures that feeling so perfectly. I loved these words, "warily unfurling so as not to wilt."

Beautifully done 55, Talon:~)
