Shadow Play

“He’s coming out.”
“Where?”
“Over there. See? And look! There’s definitely a shadow.”
“Is that good or bad?”
“I can never remember. The thing is, he’s not looking at his shadow. What does it mean if doesn't see it?”
“What the heck is he looking at then?”
“He’s looking at us looking at him.”

So did he see his shadow or not?? He didn't here but the word is he did in PA so I guess that's the one that matters. Very good 55, btw. Here's looking at you!

If the Groundhog is blind, will we STILL have 6 more weeks of Winter?
Loved your old barn pic.
The black and white is PERFECT!
Loved your 55 Talon
Thanks for playing, thanks for your support, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

I've never quite grasped the full science of groundhog day, either. That barn is just amazing--it looks so normal until you see the insane foundation...very cool.

He knows something we dont about the weather or about how cold it is or about how stupid we are to look for weather predictions from him...

They are cute aren't they! I guess we might actually have six weeks of winter here since he saw his shadow. We certainly haven't had any yet.

It has been so mild in our area I can't imagine having any winter weather now, but then who knows...

This is a great 55 and a great picture. They are cute critters, aren't they?

LOL. I love when you write humor. I didn't expect this with the header picture, but what a delightful read on a Friday afternoon.

Have a good weekend, Talon.

LOL...he's so cute too. I heard he did see his shadow and we are due six more weeks of winter.

Still waiting for the first week here.

From the look on his face, I don't think he's a "morning" being:)

Where is his weatherman's blazer?

Merv didn't see his shadow but his galpal in training did, it's all a conspiracy, I think.

And it appears he knows not what to do, or maybe he does. Curiosity is a cute emotion.

I an with the ground hog, I can never remember!
But, I am pretty sure we will have more winter, even if this is southern Maine.

This is so lovely.
What was this year's result? More winter?
Up here it is real winter now, we get some extreme cold from Siberia which doesn't seem to want to leave anymore...

I always wonder what the groundhog is thinking. Now I know. :)

Of course he's looking at us looking at him. No one likes to be the centre of attention like that!

Are there any records kept as to how many times Punxsutawney Phil peed on his handlers?

Ha ha. Animals never pretend when they're confused, or lost, or barely able to make sense of their surroundings. Wouldn't it be liberating if humans were more like animals in that regard.
